Grammarly provides a tool called Authorship that helps track student's paper development process so faculty can assist them in completing written assignments effectively including the ethical use of AI.
Accessing Grammarly
The features of Grammarly described in this document only work on tablets, laptops and desktops in browser mode. The Grammarly app does not include these features on tablet or phone. Grammarly will not work in a browser on a smartphone.
The settings work on PVAMU Accounts. If you have a personal account or one with another school, Grammarly screens may look different.
If you do not have a Grammarly account at PVAMU, click on Sign up It's free -- do not Sign UP with Google. Grammarly Pro is provided to all students by the university as features more than the free version.
Step 1: Login to Grammarly website (www.grammarly.com)
Step 2: Provide your @pvamu.edu email address
Step 3: Complete all questions, then click Agree and Sign up
Step 4: Respond to any email verification.

Step 2: Click Login
If your screen does not have the Log in button,
Step 1 : Click the 3 vertical bars on the upper right and locate Log In.
Step 2: Click Login from the login screen.

After logging in
Step 1: Click New Doc
After Typing your work in the editor either Share or Download your work -- This depends on your professor's instructions, check with them to see if they prefer you to share or download.
How to Download a Word or PDF Document
Step 1: Click on the ... at the top right of the editor window
Step 2: Click Print & Export
Step 3: Click Export to Word (.docx) or Export to PDF (read your professors instructions to determine which)
Step 4: Complete the the questions (if you have multiple page, toggle to Entire doc under Pages)
Step 5: Click Export
Step 6: Save File for Upload into Canvas
Video Overview
Do this step immediately after exporting your document.
Step 1: Click the down arrow on the Agent Bar until the Thumbprint is visible
Step 2: Click on the Thumbprint
Step 3: Click Open full report
Step 4: Click on Share Button at the top right
Step 5: Click down arrow next to Private
Step 6: Click Anyone with the link
Step 7: Scroll down (if necessary) and click Copy on Share Link
Step 8: Click Done
Step 9: Provide link to your professor per instructions -- it can be added to comments when clicking submit on an assignment.
