Refer to the last section of this doc - "How do I add a card for a single student" to avoid this situation entirely.
Grades occasionally may "appear" to disappear for students if the assign cards are not setup for all students. This most commonly occurs when an instructor adds a student extension, but changes the main card. To fix this simply change the Assign Card to the Section Name.
Grades are never lost. Once full student access is restored all previously graded items become visible.
In the image below a single student has been assigned. In this situation only a grade for that student will appear.
This is the most common cause of missing grades -- replacing Everyone with a single student in the Assign to rather than adding a new Assign Card for a single student. The fastest way to fix this is the click the X on the single student and select Everyone in the drop down list.
In the image below the "Everyone" will show grades for all students
Step 1: Drill into the Assignment (or Discussion) and Click on the Assign To Button
Step 2: Click Add
Step 3: In the Assign To Box select Everyone
Step 4: Click Save (at bottom of dialog box)
Click Add at the bottom of the Assign Card
Assign to on the main card changes to Everyone else
