The process to move grades from Canvas to Panthertracks requires four steps,
- Export gradebook from eCourses
- Export gradebook template from Panthertracks
- Copy grades manually between the spreadsheets
- Import the grade template into Panthertracks
STEP 1: EXPORT GRADEBOOK FROM eCOURSES
- Click on Grades in the Canvas Menu

- Click 3 Vertical Dots next to Name
- Sort by Name
- Order A-Z

- Click Export
- Select desired Export Type

- Save Export File
- Open Spreadsheet

Final Grade is the student view of the final grade if assignments are graded but still hidden from students.
Unposted final grade is the grade calculation with hidden grades used in the final calculation.
If adjusted grades are used, an adjusted grade column will be included in the export. To enter adjusted grades refer to the Canvas Guide on Adjusted Grades.
If all grades have been released to students, Final Grade and Unposted Final Grade will match.
STEP 2: EXPORT GRADEBOOK FROM PANTHERTRACKS for FACULTY
- From Panthertracks for Faculty, Click Enter Midterm and Final Grades

- Click on button next to class desired for import (Not Started or In Progress)
- Scroll down to verify names are present and match expected class
Maximize browser to see student names when scrolling down.
- Click the Gear icon next to your name at the top right of the screen
- Click on Export Template

- Select file format desired
- Click Export

Final Grade and Last Attended Date Columns need additions. All other column should be left as exported. Last Attended Date only needs a value for FN grades.
STEP 3: MANUALLY COPY GRADES BETWEEN SPREADSHEETS
Grades can be copied from the correct final grade column (final, unposted or adjusted) in the eCourses Spreadsheet to the Panthertracks export template.
- Provided sorting is done from A--Z in eCourses
- Remove any withdrawn students rows from the Panthertracks documents. Withdrawn students are not present in eCourses gradebook.
- Spot check grades to verify no issues with grade alignment between both spreadsheets
- Occasionally names may not be sorted the same way in both spreadsheets, check to verify before copying grades over.
- This is common with students who have more than 1 first or last name.
STEP 4: IMPORT GRADE TEMPLATE INTO PANTHERTRACKS
- Click on Gear
- Click on Import
If Export Template and Import are grayed out, a course is not currently selected.

- Click Browse and locate file (not shown below - file is present in image)
- Click Upload
- Click Continue

- Preview File to confirm correct sheet was uploaded
- Click Continue

Import Mapping will not be necessary if no spreadsheet modifications have been made since
- Click Continue

Read the validation summary at the top of the screen.

Even if no errors it is good practice to download and review the validation report.

Validation report shows which rows were not imported due to errors or if no data was in the row.
