No smartphones or tablets are compatible with Honorlock
For most exams, a microphone/webcam are also required. This is a step by step troubleshooting guide in the event Honorlock does not work for you.

Honorlock On Demand Chat Support for Students (24/7) - This is not a bot, but you will be asked 2 automated questions before access to a human becomes available.
The chat icon will appear at the bottom right once authentication begins and remain present throughout the entire exam.

Can't Get Extension Working?
Only use this feature if you can't get started in Honorlock proctoring.
Go to the Honorlock Chat Center.
Are you attempting to complete your quiz on a smartphone or tablet?
Smartphones and Tablets are not compatible with Honorlock
A Windows 10/11, Mac OS 10.15+ or ChromeOS device are required for Honorlock.
If you do not own a device of this type you have options:
TechItOut Kiosks
TechItOut laptops may be borrowed for a few hours with your student id or id number from the Library (2nd or 3rd Floor), MSC, Electrical Engineering Building 1st Floor, Ag/Business Building 2nd Floor or the Northwest Center 1st Floor.
Look for the kiosks. The one of the library 3rd floor is located next to the Honors suite, behind a half wall near the tall worktables.
Library Computer Lab
A limited number of computers in Library 210 may also be used, but most do not have a camera/microphone. Ask the workers at the information desk which computers have Cameras/Mics in them. All of the Mac computers will meet this requirement and a small number of Windows machines.

Exit Current Browser and access Quiz from Chrome
Honorlock only works with the Chrome Browser.
Change to the Chrome browser
If you do not have Chrome on your machine you may download it from Google.

Checking your browser version.
Look at how to determine your version of Chrome. If you can't follow these instructions, you are not using Chrome. You should see the symbol shown above active on your taskbar.
The system check tool, once in Honorlock will check this for you as well.
Honorlock is not compatible with any other browsers.
Is the Honorlock Extension not loading despite having attempted it more than once?
This screen keeps appearing even after you have attempted to install the extension.
This screen continues to show even after you have installed the extension.

Disable Proctorio, ProctorU or GotoMeeting Extensions
Honorlock will not work if any other proctoring extensions are loaded into Chrome. It is NOT enough to disable them, they must be removed.
Method 1:
- Click on Extension Tool in Chrome at Top Right (This may not be visible on all devices).

- Locate the Extension in the list
- Click the 3 vertical dots next to it
- Click Remove from Chrome

Method 2:
- Click the 3 vertical dots at the top right of chrome
- Click Extensions
- Manage Extensions

- Locate the extension in the list (May be Secure Exam Proctor or another proctoring tool)
- Click Remove

Reinstall Honorlock Extension
Once the other Proctoring Tool is removed from Chrome, return to the Quiz and reinstall Honorlock extension.
Are you able to take the quiz now?
Congrats! Proceed with your quiz.
Microphone/Camera Check
Did you receive a prompt to allow your camera/microphone?
Camera/Microphone Not Working
Permissions must be granted to the web camera and/or microphone. If you did not allow this the first time you went into Chrome it will not prompt you again.
Refer the Guide on Enabling Your Camera/Microphone to enable web camera/microphone.
Once Access has been granted to the camera
- Close the Control Panel (no image shown)
- Close the Permission Denied Window

- Click on click here to try again link in the Authentication in progress screen.

Honorlock will step back and require a few of the passed authentication steps repeated.
