All users will need to use the Canvas Exam Converter by New York Institute of Technology until access to Respondus 4.0 is restored.  At this time there is no ETA as when it will become available again.

• Open Notepad (PC) or Textedit (Mac)
• Refer to Basic Instructions on Converter Page or Respondus 4.0: How to Format Questions
• Write questions according to the format instructions
• Copy the questions out of the Notepad/Textedit

1. Open the Canvas Exam Converter by New York Institute of Technology
2. Enter the Exam or Quiz Name
3. Enter Points Per Question (if variable, adjust after import into Canvas)
4. Paste questions written in Step 1
5. Check For Syntax Errors

1. Verify and fix syntax errors if necessary
2. Once errors are fixed click Convert to Canvas QTI file.

1.  Go into the class to import questions into (not shown)

2. On the home screen click Import Existing Content (May be on bottom if using a device with a narrow screen)

1. Under Import Content select QTI .zip file

1. Upload the QTI file made  in the Exam Converter  - Note file name is shown below Source* box when uploaded
2. Select question bank (optional)
3. Adjust Options (optional)
4. Click Add to Import Queue

1. Wait until Content imports shows Status Completed
