Faculty may setup Honorlock to integrate with Hawkes Web Tests.
STEP 1: ADD PASSWORD TO HAWKES WEB TEST & DEPLOY TO CANVAS
- Set-up web Test in Hawkes with a password.
- Assign Web Test and link to Canvas (steps not documented here)
The password used here Honorlock is for demo purposes only. Consider using a more complex harder password to secure the exam.
Do not give this password to students. It will allow them to bypass Honorlock. Remember it or write it down as you will enter exactly the same password when you set up Honorlock (it is case sensitive).
STEP 2: SETUP IN HONORLOCK
- Drill into the Course desired from the dashboard (not shown)
- Click on Honorlock 1.3 on the Course Menu. If not present add it to the Navigation Bar.
- Click Enable within Honorlock page in the row for the desired assignment.
- Click on the 3 vertical bars at the top right of the Honorlock page
- Click on Register Third Party Assessment
- Enter Assignment Name (Does not have to match, Match is recommended)
- Enter Assignment Start Date (Match to Hawkes Exactly)
- Enter End Date (Match to Hawkes Exactly)
- Click on Assessment Platform
- Choose + Use Another Platform
- Enter Platform Name Hawkes (Exactly Hawkes, NOT Hawkes Learning)
- Go to Assignments in eCourses, locate the related assignment (not shown)
- Copy the URL at the top of the Assignment
- Return to Honorlock Screen, Paste the URL into the Direct URL box
- Type the Password as entered into the Web Test section in Hawkes EXACTLY (case sensitive)
- Adjust other settings as desired.
Consider carefully if you are to require Room Scan. Students in labs or on desktops will not be able to move the device around to allow moving past this point in the validation process.
The scientific calculator included in Honorlock does not list the operations performed.
It functions the same as the Windows 10/11 Calculator. It differs in functionality from Android and Apple Calculators in how square root operators work. (Sqrt then number, versus number than Sqrt)
Consider clicking on Allowed Site URLs (2) and entering https://www.desmos.com/scientific in the Configuration Allowed URLS box (3)
Students will be able to use the calculator and it will capture on screen in the recorded video.
- Adjust Test Taker Guidelines as Desired
- Scroll to bottom, Click Create
