This workflow addresses how to remediate the Ally Issue:
Document: The document is scanned but not OCRed.
Video Overview
Considerations
- Typically, Ally can convert scanned images into text internally for shorter, simpler documents.
- Scanned images are never tagged, but the scan and OCR Process tags it automatically.
- When Ally fails to Scan and OCR, the document must be taken into Acrobat Pro.
- Handwritten documents with mathematical or chemical notation require the use of MathPix. Contact CIITS for assistance at [email protected] or (936) 261-3283.
Remediation Steps
Step 1: Click on the arrow next to the Document is scanned but not OCRed
Step 2: Click on the meter of the first document listed.
Step 3: Click on Preview and Apply
Step 4: Wait for the Scan to complete. The Time can vary considerably. If successful, click Apply
Step 5A: If successful, click on All Issues
- Headings are a major issue and not in the scope of this training.
- If the Fix Here button is present, click it and follow the wizard, as these are simple items even if they are not severe issues
Step 5B: If a black screen appears after clicking Apply, verify if the item is still in the list
The original list had 2 items, only 1 is currently present. This indicates despite receiving the Access Denied Request that the OCR & Scan was successful.
If the list still had the same number of items Go to Remediation Flow: This document is scanned but not OCRed in Acrobat Pro.
